Week 52 - a goodbye to 2013

I did not do a very good job of achieving  my 2013 goals, but I stuck with posting weely photos!
This year was HARD, I have never been so challenged in every aspect of my life.
There are many more challenges ahead of me, but I am so proud of the steps that I took this year to be happier, healthier,  and to love more openly.
What an amazing year!

Also, a video summary of the year (it is becoming tradition!):

Merry Christmas!

12 things at Christmas (yep, it is becoming an annual tradition!):
1.  Quick trip to Oregon this weekend to see my parents, but sadly my Dad had to stay home due to bad weather and housesitter problems.
2.  Mom's trip also got scrambled, but it was nice to have her camped out on the coach during her Seattle layover.  It has been a long time since I have seen my parents on Christmas!
3.  David went crazy with the Christmas gifts this year: hair salon, yoga, and a terrarium!
4.  I passed my 1st CEBS test, still pretty thrilled about that!
5.  After working 70 hour weeks, and being so stressed about that test, I am feeling a bit lost to not have to multi task every minute.
6.  I am really looking forward to starting marathon training.  Crazy, I know.  :)
7.  I am also really looking forward to running my first marathon.  It is amazing how perspective changes in just a year.
8.  My motto for 2012 was that I could do anything.  I really taught myself that.  ♥
9.  My motto for 2013 is to be kind to myself, and thankful for each day, each adventure, each friendship and each relationship.
10.  I really hope to end 2013 in the 180s.  I can do 10 pounds, see, I am being kind to myself!  :)
11.  I am really hopeful for the new year.  I get antsy at this time of year, I always feel ready to go!  And this year is no different, 2013 is going to be beautiful, wonderful, I can feel it.
12.  I missed my coffee this morning and have spent the entire day really looking forward to tomorrow's cup.  :)

2013

2013 has been on my mind today.  What can I say, I am a planner!
For the coming year my goal is to just try to relax, enjoy this year, to be thankful.  I would like to travel, date myself, and date my love more.  Go to hot yoga (often) and end the year another ten pounds lighter.  I will become a marathoner, visit my home state and see friends from long ago.
I will find time to kayak the lakes, and yes, I need to take the water taxi to the beach.
I am going to rock this new job of mine, watch my love graduate, and become (I am certain) an amazing chef.
In 2013 I hope for dinners and time with friends, wine country, apples, a Christmas tree, I will make time for the holidays and traditions with David.
What do you have planned?

Short and sweet, highlights of 2011

We moved (a sweet two bedroom, well one bedroom and one guitar room lol...).

We ate, and celebrated birthdays this year with fancy restaurants. :)

I visited Mom in Oregon, this was the trip I didn't want to leave, it was like becoming friends with my Mom.

We picked berries and learned to make jam of all kinds. Next year I know we need a case of raspberry!

We impulsively took a weekend drive to look at a cafe in Oregon, we pretty much hated it on sight, but had an amazing little vacation. :)

I ran my first 5k, my first race, on my birthday. I loved looking forward to it, being nervous, and RUNNING the entire thing - no walk breaks!!! It was easily the best birthday gift I have ever given myself. Well that and the garmin! lol.....

Speaking of that garmin! After celebrating my birthday with a race I decided (or maybe discovered?) that I love running, and over the next couple months I worked up to weekend runs averaging just over 5 miles. I signed up for my first 15k an my first half marathon (both in 2012), so I'm excited to see what my highest garmin pic is for 2012!

Last but not least, I visited Mom in Hawaii for a week just before Christmas, ran on the beach and absorbed some beautiful sunshine! 2011 had some stressful spots, but also some treasured highlights! :)

Mostly Sweet

This has been a crazy year for me. I was feeling like I hadn't accomplished much, but then had my review at work and my boss set me straight. Truthfully, it is her awesomeness (and increased vesting on my profit sharing plan) that keeps me with this company. :)
To recap 2009:
Wisdom teeth were removed, we wandered Bainbridge in Bloom, took a road trip to Oregon to visit my parents, and on the way back met some of David's friends. David's parents came to visit, as did my Grandmother. We went camping on San Juan Island, camping in Fort Warden/Port Townsend, apple picking, and I vacationed in LA with two of my best friends. David and I went pumpkin picking, I bought a new camera, became a little gym crazed, lost a ton of weight, ate healthier, became healthier, started running again, hurt my foot, and switched from heels to fancy (expensive) flats. We have had many tasty meals with friends and family this year, we vacationed again in Port Townsend for their city tree lighting, chopped down our own tree, I became obsessed with oatmeal for breakfast, learned to bake bread, David bought me a fancy mixer for my birthday, and I chopped all of my hair off!
Whew! What were your 2009 highlights?
I am leaving you with some pics from our Sunday outing to the Bellevue Garden Lights - it was so beautiful!
